Abstract

There are three types of education system operating in Balochistan. One of them is
madrassah education which added fuel to the fire by further deteriorating the literacy
rate in Balochistan due to the following reasons: firstly madrassah has an extremely old
educational program and contain obsolete books that weight on remembrance not on
basic reasoning while secondly the alumni of madrassah in Balochistan are qualified for
three positions; Teacher of the madrassa, Government worker, and master of shariah
law. This paper addresses the socio-political impact of madrassah education on
Balochistan’s society. The negative impacts of madrassah education on the society of
Balochistan is far higher than the positive impacts. Sectarian warfare is intensified in
Balochistan due to these religious seminaries. Scientific knowledge and secular school
system are lacking in Balochistan due to these clergies. The pupils of madrassah in
Balochistan are not contributing to the socio-political needs of Balochistan’s society.
Apart from this female graduated from these religious seminaries got more respect
than the ordinary female and clergies have positive role in the conflict resolution in the
disputed tribal regions.
